Description
This ArcGIS resource demonstrates Omaha's development after the installation of the Interstate system. The georferenced map covers the area east of 72nd street, north of Highway 275, south of Fort St. and west of I-29.
The highway system allowed for wealthy individuals to move westward and leave the inner city. Meanwhile, those who did not have money for cars remained in the inter city and became more susceptible to slumlord capitalism due to their inability to move.
